We have a chance to purchase a Pre 1996 Haas VMC's (VFOE, VF3 and VF4). We can buy these for an excellent price but I've heard that the pre '98's do not have a great history / quality, etc?? Something to do with the motors / electrical wiring, etc? Sorry if this sounds like a prejudice question. My view is why buy three machines that might not last another 5 years w/o having to constantly update / service the machine when we can purchase a great quality Japanese Used VMC 10 yrs old that has another 10 - 20 years of life left..

Thoughts anyone?
